There are various transportation options to reach San Miguel de Allende, the nearest airport is in Querétaro (QRO) just 30 miles. If your priority is to reach  San Miguel de Allende as soon as possible the Querétaro International Airport (QRO)  is your best option.

If you feel adventurous and want to explore or visit the world's largest city, the Mexico City International Airport (MEX) is a cheaper and more flexible option due to the variety of flights the airport handles. We personally plan to fly to Mexico City. Located three and half hours from San Miguel de Allende, the airport has numerous transportation services to San Miguel de Allende.
